MICROMAX LAUNCHES HOOKUP APP FOR IM CHAT AND FREE TEXT MESSAGING

Micromax has launched a new
application which allows users to
exchange images, audio and
video files alongside the
standard messages. Quite similar
to the popular Whatsapp service,
the application is absolutely free
to use and according to
Micromax “combines the best of
IM chat and text messaging
service.”
The application will come pre-
bundled with their new phone
Micromax A25 Smarty. An
interesting part of the app is that
it lets users send messages to
non-Hookup users as well. The
A25 Smarty comes with a Hook-
Up bundle giving buyers 330 free
messages per month for an year.
The cross platform service
WhatsApp already has a lot of
traction in this space so it should
be interesting to see if HookUp
can make a dent in the market.
