MICROMAX BECOMES 12TH LARGEST PHONE MAKER

Micromax which started off its operations in India is
very popular for it’s Dual SIM phones and innovative
ad campaigns. The company has been expanding
globally and recently ventured into Brazil. The handset
maker has a presence in Hong Kong, Bangladesh,
Nepal, Sri-Lanka, Maldives, UAE, Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Afghanistan. The
company has achieved a 1% of the global handset
market according to the Global Handset Vendor
Marketshare report from research firm Strategy
Analytics.
Micromax managed to ship 4 million handsets in Q2
2011 making it the 3rd largest handset maker in India
behind Nokia and Samsung in terms of shipments.The
company was initially selling only Dual SIM phones
but then has recently started offering Android phones
as well.

now larger than all Japanese brands, such as Sharp or
