Our lives are becoming more and more dependent on our mobile phones. From connecting with friends on social networks to mobile banking, there are lots of advantages the mobile phone offers, but there is the big risk of exposing and losing your personal information if you lose your phone.
Norton has conducted an interesting survey which reveals that 53% of Indian have lost their phone or have fallen victim to cell phone theft in their life. This percentage keeps on increasing over the past few years and now has increased 1.5 times in the span of last 5 years.
74% people would like to install software on their phone that would wipe their personal information remotely. They are also willing to pay particular amount to get such services, but most of them end up paying more for such services without getting the job done.
The survey also reveals that only 42% of Indians have protected their phone with a password. Most of them who use protection were the ones who have already lost their phone or own a smart phone. 80% would like to pay for a software that could lock, wipe their phone and find their phone’s location remotely.
60% would allow their phone to find their location and are ready to use banking services on mobile phones.
